My heart is teflon coated
My feelings hygenically packed
in cellophane.
I live in a transparent
plastic box.
Cushioned by styrofoam.
Smiling my brittle smile.
Even when there is no air to breathe.
And from suffocation no release.
What should I do when Teflon tires
and plastic rends?
When messy reality intervenes?
That is the bitter truth of it all.
Time to say Goodbye Barbie Doll.

Fabulous Varsha! Ending was real smooth.
ReplyDeleteAgain Barbie has something to say:
I may have lost my charisma
And my plastic may have lost its sheen.
But, pls dont kill me
Coz I am still a girl,
and a girl deserves to be forever sixteen.
Shiva!
ReplyDeleteFERVENTLY AGREE.Such desperate dejection should not touch any girl.
varsha were u really talking about Barbie dolls, or is it symbolic of the plight of girl child?
ReplyDeleteDear friend,
ReplyDeleteBarbie dolls are a metaphor...for what?Whatever the reader gleans-be it girl child or suicidal girls.
That is the bitter truth of it all.
ReplyDeleteTime to say Goodbye Barbie Doll.
